Police have recovered a firearm during an operation on Wednesday at an abandoned plot of land in Tabatinga, Lethem.
While conducting the search, officers noticed a man fleeing into nearby bushes. Despite a pursuit, the individual managed to escape and is currently being sought by authorities.
Following the chase, police continued their search of the area and located a suspected .38 revolver along with four matching rounds of ammunition, which were wrapped in a jersey.
Both the firearm and ammunition have been processed and secured as evidence. Investigations are ongoing as law enforcement continues to pursue leads related to the incident.
