A fisherman is feared dead after reportedly falling off a boat in the Corentyne River on Saturday.
The missing man has been identified as 28-year-old Avinash Dookie of Number 77 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Reports say Dookie was trying to start the boat’s engine while bent over and leaning toward the side of the vessel when he fell overboard.
An investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances of the incident.
