Frederick McWilfred, a former political advisor under David Granger, has endorsed President Dr. Irfaan Ali, calling him the only candidate with a credible plan for Guyana’s future. McWilfred, who previously led the Political Division at the Ministry of the Presidency, supports the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) for a second term.

He praised Ali’s leadership and highlighted the strength of Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, arguing that their partnership offers unmatched political direction compared to the opposition. This endorsement comes as Guyana approaches the September 1 elections.
Other former APNU/AFC members, including Jermaine Figueira and Geeta Chandan-Edmond, have also publicly supported Ali, emphasizing the need for voters to prioritize vision and performance over party loyalty. Several leaders from smaller parties have joined the PPP/C in anticipation of the elections.
