Police in Regional Division #4B are investigating an armed robbery carried out against three Chinese nationals at their Eccles, East Bank Demerara residence on Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary investigations, the victims had just returned home and were exiting their vehicle in the garage at approximately 15:53 hours when they were set upon by four identifiable males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The suspects forced the victims into the house and proceeded to ransack both the upper and lower flats. During the ordeal, the men relieved the victims of $500,000 in Guyana currency, US$900, 1,000 Mexican dollars, 200 Hong Kong dollars, a Chinese ID card, and other documents.
CCTV footage captured by cameras attached to the residence has been extracted and forms part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigations continue.
