Ganesh Mahipaul on Political Alliances

Ganesh Mahipaul recently published the following Statement : In my short 17 years of active politics, I’ve observed one consistent trend: the PPP/C always finds a way to rekindle their relationships with old allies. They may fall out, hurl insults, and even campaign against one another. Yet, when the dust settles and the votes are counted, they inevitably return to each other.

Just look at the records: Manzoor Nadir did it. Lennox Shuman did it. Asha Kissoon did it. Today, we have another figure pretending to be independent, using voters as mere stepping stones. There’s a thin, slippery line between falling out and quickly falling back in love—especially when power, privilege, and political convenience are at stake.

Don’t be fooled. A vote for him is just another vote for the PPP/C. Don’t make the same mistake again. Your choice is between the palm of the hand and the cup. I will be voting for the palm of the hand. Remember, you don’t vote fuh cup!
