The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has initiated an investigation into two separate aircraft incidents that occurred today at Mathews Ridge, Region One.

The first incident happened at approximately 7:55 AM involving a Cessna 208 Caravan, registration 8R-KAB, operated by Jags Aviation. The second incident occurred shortly after, at around 8:15 AM, and involved another Cessna 208 Caravan, registration 8R-GCB, operated by Air Services Limited (ASL).
Preliminary reports indicate that the Jags Aviation aircraft sustained a puncture to its left landing gear tire while maneuvering in the parking area. Meanwhile, the ASL aircraft landed safely but overran onto an unprepared surface, which resulted in a punctured tire on its left landing gear.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in either incident, and no significant damage to the aircraft.
In light of the ongoing upgrades to the Mathews Ridge runway, the Government of Guyana, through the GCAA, had previously issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) advising pilots to exercise heightened caution during approach, landing, and take-off. These NOTAMs are reviewed by pilots during their pre-flight preparations.
The GCAA has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a thorough investigation of both incidents to maintain the highest standards of aviation safety.
