The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has officially approved the party symbol for the newly formed political movement “We Invest in Nationhood” (WIN), led by businessman and presidential hopeful Azruddin Mohamed.

The announcement marks a significant milestone for WIN as it prepares to contest the upcoming General and Regional Elections on September 1st. In a statement shared on social media shortly after the approval, Mohamed expressed his gratitude to supporters and renewed his call for vigilance amid what he described as escalating political attacks.
“My heartfelt thanks to my fellow Guyanese for standing with us,” Mohamed wrote. “It is crucial, now more than ever, to be vigilant, stand guard, and not succumb to the narratives propagated by partisan news outlets and state media, such as the Chronicle, NewsRoom, and Action News.”
Mohamed accused the ruling People’s Progressive Party (PPP) of mismanaging public funds and warned of anticipated smear campaigns aimed at undermining his political efforts. He further alleged that the PPP would attempt to fracture his support base by offering incentives such as land titles and contracts to individuals close to him — including relatives, friends, and staff.
“This struggle transcends the aspirations of any single individual. This is not about one man. This is a fight to secure a brighter future for all Guyanese people,” he stated.
With GECOM’s approval of the party symbol, WIN can now be officially represented on the ballot, giving voters a new option as election day approaches. Mohamed concluded his message with a rallying call: “I’m ready to serve. I’m ready to fight. And with your support, I’m ready to lead. Let’s WIN this together.”
The PPP has not responded to Mohamed’s latest claims. GECOM, meanwhile, continues its preparations for what is shaping up to be a highly competitive election season.
