A tragic incident occurred last Friday when Emanuel Williams, a 38-year-old gold miner known as “Chiny,” was fatally stabbed during an altercation at a bar in 14 Mile Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
The confrontation took place around 11:30 PM, according to a statement from Police Headquarters. Investigations revealed that Williams was involved in a dispute with another man at the bar when he was stabbed in the chest.
Williams was promptly transported to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. A post-mortem examination later confirmed that he died from perforation of the lung and heart resulting from the chest wound.
His body has since been returned to his relatives for burial. Police are actively working to locate the suspect involved in the incident as their investigation continues. Further updates are anticipated as the case develops.
