During Police Operation
Dinesh Deonarine, known as Anil, a 33-year-old welder from Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, was arrested earlier today following a police operation at his home aimed at uncovering stolen articles and illegal items.
The operation, conducted by Inspector Sardinha, Sergeant Tyndall, and Woman Detective Corporal Clarke, involved a ‘cordon and search’ exercise. During the search, a range of suspected stolen items was recovered from Deonarine’s residence, including six vehicle batteries, three water pumps, two pressure washers, three solar lights, and two Allion motor vehicle grills.
When questioned about the items, Deonarine claimed he was coerced by a man known as ‘Black Star’ to store them at his home. He has been charged with unlawful possession of the items and was taken to the Vigilance Police Station, where he remains in custody as investigations continue.
