Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty has transferred the tax case against billionaire Azruddin Mohamed to Court 3, where it will be heard by Magistrate Fabayo Azore. Mohamed faces charges of fraudulent declaration and tax evasion related to the importation of a luxury vehicle in 2020, as alleged by the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The Chief Magistrate stated she would not preside over the trial due to her existing caseload. The case is set for a report on October 3, 2025, when the new Magistrate may schedule a Case Management Conference to establish a trial date.
Mohamed is accused of falsely declaring the vehicle’s value as US$75,300 instead of the actual price of US$695,000, allegedly evading over $380 million in local taxes. He maintains his innocence.
