Big Smith News Watch Reports | In a dramatic development in the investigation into the murder of 75-year-old Athlone Goring, police sources have revealed that two of his grandchildren are prime suspects in his death.

The victim’s 22-year-old granddaughter and 20-year-old grandson have been in police custody since Goring was found brutally stabbed in the upper flat of his home on December 26. Notably, the suspects reside in the lower flat of the same building.
Investigators noted there were no signs of forced entry into the victim’s apartment, raising suspicions about those who had direct access. Reports indicate that police have uncovered additional evidence believed to implicate one of the grandchildren, including an injury observed on one suspect’s hand.
Authorities are expected to seek legal advice as they move forward with the case, potentially leading to murder charges.
Goring had recently returned from overseas when he was fatally attacked in his apartment. According to the grandchildren, they had gone upstairs to check on their grandfather after hearing strange noises and claimed to have found him on the floor, bleeding profusely.
He was immediately rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his murder are ongoing as police continue to gather evidence.
