GuyExpo 2025 officially opened tonight at the National Exhibition Centre, showcasing more than 270 local, regional, and international companies under the theme “Transformation through Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues, emphasized the significance of this theme, highlighting Guyana’s remarkable growth and the critical role of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping the nation’s future.

In her welcome message, Minister Rodrigues stated, “For decades, GuyExpo has served as the premiere platform for showcasing Guyana’s economic potential, bringing together manufacturers, agro-processors, service providers, consumers, and investors. This expo provides an invaluable opportunity for exchanging ideas and creating lasting connections.”
She encouraged the business community to seize the opportunities available at GuyExpo, praising it as an unmatched exposure platform for both local and international markets. “Come on board and be part of this journey,” she urged.
This marks the 30th anniversary of GuyExpo, and senior communications manager at the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Cordell McClure, expressed pride in the event’s longevity. “We have been around since 1995, and we are one of the longest-running expos in the Caribbean. This is a significant showcase of Guyanese businesses and reflects our growth in the private sector, agro-processing, manufacturing, and services,” McClure stated.
He highlighted major changes to this year’s layout, emphasizing an enhanced family experience with new attractions, including a dedicated business-to-business networking hub. This feature aims to facilitate connections and partnerships among companies and investors, promoting collaboration and growth.
Additionally, this year features a Tourism Village that celebrates Guyana’s diverse tourism industry. Kamrul Baksh, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, described the Tourism Village as a “microcosm” of the Guyanese tourism experience. Visitors can enjoy a wide array of Guyanese cuisine and culture, along with insights into various tourism products.
“Highlights include local chefs showcasing culinary delights, a tourism cinema featuring documentaries about Guyana, and a golfing area for putting,” Baksh explained. “The idea is for guests to enjoy an immersive experience in the Tourism Village.”
GuyExpo 2025 runs from tonight until Sunday, November 16, offering attendees a unique glimpse into the innovative spirit and economic potential of Guyana.
