Hairdresser Charged with Grievous Bodily Harm in Ann’s Grove Incident

Tawana Hamlet, a 28-year-old hairdresser, was arrested on June 15, 2025, and subsequently charged on June 17, 2025, by officers from the Cove and John Police Station with two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The charges, laid under Section 50 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, stem from an incident involving 26-year-old Tyrese Brandon Boucher and his four-year-old daughter on June 15, 2025, in Ann’s Grove.

Hamlet appeared in the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Her Worship Orinthia Schmidt, where the charges were formally read to her. She pleaded not guilty to both counts.

The court granted her bail set at $80,000 for each count, and the case has been adjourned to July 13, 2025, for further reports and statements. The community awaits further developments in this serious matter.
