Credible Sources Reports – In an exclusive interview with Credible Sources, former Leader of the Opposition and Minister of State, Joseph Harmon, vehemently denied allegations that he has endorsed President Irfaan Ali for a second term.

The controversy arose following a widely circulated post by News Room, which included a photo of Harmon alongside President Ali at the recent funeral of Amna Ally. The accompanying narrative suggested that Harmon was supporting the incumbent president’s re-election bid, a claim he categorically rejected.
“I have not endorsed President Ali for a second term, and the News Room cannot use a picture taken at Amna Ally’s funeral to convert that into an endorsement,” Harmon stated. “It is disgusting false journalism, and I demand the post be taken down.”
This incident occurs against the backdrop of a broader campaign by the ruling PPP/C, which is seeking to attract former members of the APNU+AFC coalition as it gears up for what is anticipated to be a tightly contested general and regional election on September 1.
