Hon. Susan Rodrigues Addresses Allegations Made by Azruddin Mohammed

In a Video statement released today, Hon. Susan Rodrigues firmly rejected the false allegations made by Azruddin Mohammed and reaffirmed her ownership of two parcels of land located at Petershall. In her prior statement, Rodrigues clarified that these lands were not connected to the apartment building Mohammed claims she owns and emphasized that she acquired them through private transactions documented by agreements of sale.

“I am pleased that Azruddin has now confirmed the truth of my statements,” Rodrigues said. “His recent video publication only serves to entrap him in his own web of lies and proves there was no government transaction involved, substantiating my claims.”

Rodrigues reiterated that she has never received or applied for land through the Central Housing and Planning Authority or any government agency. She explained that before beginning construction, she submitted her building application to the local authority, adhering to the same processes expected of any law-abiding citizen. “I have been compliant with the laws of Guyana, including the submission of all my assets to the Integrity Commission,” she added.

Highlighting her commitment to transparency, Rodrigues stated, “It might have been easier to conceal the truth or to use an alias, but I chose to do the right thing because I can account for everything I own. I have been fully transparent and honest with the Guyanese people.”

She went on to express concern regarding the allegations made against her, linking them to Mohammed’s ongoing legal troubles, as he faces serious charges and possible extradition to the United States. “He and his family are fighting for their very existence and will drag anyone with them,” she warned, urging citizens not to be swayed by Mohammed’s “blatant lies” that have misled the public.

Rodrigues has faced what she described as relentless harassment from Mohammed and his associates but made it clear that she will not be intimidated. “I am not afraid of the Mohammads, and I will not be bullied into submission,” she asserted.

While she stated that she has no intention of pursuing legal action against Mohammed, given his uncertain future regarding extradition, she emphasized that this would be her final comment on the matter. “I have more than adequately addressed these false allegations,” Rodrigues concluded.
