The Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in Manaus is actively searching for relatives of 71-year-old Junie Marshall, a native of Guyana, who passed away on December 25. Officials identified Marshall through his passport, and the body is currently awaiting identification by family members at the Institute’s headquarters.

The IML reports that bodies can remain unclaimed for up to 30 days before being buried as unidentified. In this case, they urge Marshall’s relatives to come forward as soon as possible to facilitate the identification process. The release of the body is contingent upon family contact with the IML’s Operational Coordination, which is available Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM.
The Forensic Medical Institute is situated at Avenida Noel Nutels, nº 300, in the Cidade Nova 2 neighborhood of Manaus. Family members or anyone with information can reach out to the IML at (92) 3216-6040 for more assistance.
As the community prepares for holiday celebrations, the IML emphasizes the importance of reuniting families with their loved ones during this difficult time.
