Royston Drakes Production Reports : Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at 23:47 hrs on July 15, 2025, at Middle Walk, Buxton, East Coast Demerara. The incident, perpetrated by unknown individuals, resulted in the deaths of two persons and injuries to several others.

Leon McFarlene, 17, unemployed, of Lot 71 Middle Walk, Buxton.
Mark Anthony Correia, 38, businessman, of Lot 75 Republic Drive, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.
Injured:
Linden Adams, 60, unemployed, Side Line Dam, Buxton.
Alwin Fiffee, 54, Middle Walk, Buxton.
Davel Talbot, 26, Special Constable, Middle Walk, Buxton.
Akeem Tuman, 18, Middle Walk, Buxton.
Sherwin Nero, 35, Friendship, East Coast Demerara.
A 17-year-old male (name withheld) of African descent from Middle Walk, Buxton.
Witnesses report that the deceased and injured were playing cards and dominoes at a shop owned by Asha Robinson, a 41-year-old businesswoman, when she retired to bed around 23:00 hrs. At approximately 23:47 hrs, Robinson heard several loud explosions, which she believed to be gunshots. Upon investigation, she found Mark Correia slumped at the table with visible injuries.
Public-spirited individuals assisted in transporting the injured to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where Leon McFarlene was pronounced dead on arrival. Suspected gunshot wounds were found on his body, including injuries to the right hand, chest, face, forearm, and right foot.
Mark Correia’s body was taken to the Enmore Regional Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead. His injuries included gunshot wounds to his back, left ear, left shoulder, chest, right palm, left jaw, and above the right eye.
The crime scene was processed, uncovering 40 spent shells (one .40, twenty-nine 5.56×45, and ten 7.62×39) and several projectiles and fragments. These items were photographed, packaged, and secured.
Witnesses reported seeing a silver-colored motorcar with registration numbers PVV 7616 or 7661 circling the area before the attack. It is believed that this vehicle was used by the suspects to flee the scene.
Investigators have received information that one of the injured individuals has an ongoing conflict with a gang known as “Team Diamond.” This individual is currently under police guard.
The police continue to seek further information regarding this incident and urge anyone with knowledge to come forward.
