Police have initiated an investigation into a tragic incident that occurred around 11:30 AM on Wednesday on the Vive-La-Force Access Road, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old man operating a front-end loader.

The deceased has been identified as Nadir Baksh, a resident of the Zeelugt Squatting Area, East Bank Essequibo. He was driving a front-end loader with registration number 24776 at the time of the accident.
Preliminary police reports indicate that Baksh was attempting to cross a wooden bridge when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The front-end loader veered off course and fell into a nearby trench, pinning Baksh underneath the heavy machinery and causing serious injuries.
Colleagues present at the scene managed to lift the loader from the trench and extricated Baksh, who was found unresponsive. He was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Baksh’s body is currently at Ezekiel Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the cause and any contributing factors.
