Hgp Nightly News Reports | Police in Linden have initiated an investigation into a tragic shooting that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Amar Jones on Tuesday afternoon. The shooting occurred along Half Mile Public Road in Wismar.
According to police reports, Jones, who was a driver from One Mile Wismar, was operating a motor canter when another vehicle pulled up alongside him. A male suspect exited the vehicle, opened fire, and then re-entered the car before fleeing the scene.
When law enforcement arrived, they found Jones unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He was transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His body has since been taken to the G-Jetsco Funeral Home for preparation ahead of a post-mortem examination.
As the investigation unfolds, police have arrested a 24-year-old woman from Amelia’s Ward, Linden, who remains in custody. Additionally, a motor vehicle believed to be connected to the incident has been seized.
At this time, the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and police continue their inquiries into the matter.
