News Source Guyana Reports | The Central Investigations Department (CID) of the Guyana Police Force has yet to issue a wanted bulletin for the primary suspect in the murder of 27-year-old businessman Amar Jones, who was shot while sitting in his canter truck two weeks ago. Jones was laid to rest on Sunday, leaving the community in shock and seeking justice.

While Jones’s former girlfriend has been charged and remanded in connection with the murder, authorities have not acted on information regarding the gunman, identified by multiple witnesses. Investigators in Linden reportedly forwarded crucial details, including photographs of the suspect, to CID headquarters over a week ago, but no bulletin has been released.
Attempts by News Source to receive updates from the Police Force’s Public Relations Office about the status of the investigation and the delay in issuing the wanted bulletin have gone unanswered.
According to information available to News Source, the primary suspect is known to law enforcement and has at least two ongoing court matters, including an abduction and robbery charge involving a gold dealer. He was jointly charged in that incident with a serving police officer.
Notably, the suspect is currently the boyfriend of the woman charged in connection with Jones’s murder. Reports indicate that prior to the shooting, Jones contacted his ex-girlfriend to arrange picking up their child, providing her with his location. However, instead of the ex-girlfriend arriving with the child, her boyfriend reportedly showed up and opened fire, shooting Jones multiple times.
The community’s calls for justice grow louder as they await further action from the police in this troubling case.
