Police are investigating the death of 52-year-old Parsram Shivpersaud, whose body was discovered in a drain on Saturday morning. Authorities suspect he may have died between 7:30 PM on June 13, 2025, and 10:30 AM on June 14, 2025.
Shivpersaud, a resident of Lot 15 Adelphi Settlement, East Canje, Berbice, was known for his heavy alcohol consumption. On the day prior to his death, he spent time at his sister’s home. At approximately 7:20 PM, he was last seen sitting on the railing of a bridge in front of her house, smoking a cigarette.
The following day, at around 10:00 AM, the deceased’s brother-in-law found his body lying face-up in a drain in front of the yard.
Police investigations are ongoing as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding Shivpersaud’s death. Further updates are expected as the inquiry continues.
