James Bond Comments on APNU Rally Attendance in Melanie

  • News

Former parliamentarian James Bond expressed his observations regarding a recent rally held by the APNU in Melanie. While he acknowledged the gathering of his old party, he noted the disappointing turnout from local residents, stating, “It was pretty sad seeing a small gathering of people from Region 5.”

Bond remarked on the heavy presence of attendees from Georgetown, highlighting that the turnout from East Coast villages, particularly Melanie, was minimal compared to past elections, such as in 2015 in Golden Grove. “If I saw ten Melanie people there, it’s a lot,” he said, attributing the low attendance to the perceived neglect of the East Coast by the PNC-APNU-AFC Opposition.

In contrast, he praised the PPP/C for its engagement with the East Coast community, claiming, “The amount of goodies Melanie received from the PPP/C… you would think it was Christmas these past five years.” Bond’s comments underscore a growing sentiment among local residents regarding party support and community engagement as the next elections approach.
