Justice Roxanne George-Wiltshire has been sworn in as the acting Chancellor of the Judiciary, while Justice Navindra Singh has assumed the role of acting Chief Justice. The Oath of Office was administered by President Dr. Irfaan Ali today.

These appointments come as Justice Yonette Cummings-Edwards, the current acting Chancellor, is set to take leave.
In his remarks, President Ali emphasized that these appointments are crucial for maintaining continuity and ensuring the efficient operation of the Judiciary. He highlighted the administration’s commitment to justice, fairness, and the rule of law, which are fundamental to Guyana’s democratic framework.
