Josian Vanderhyden, a 22-year-old labourer from Sideline Dam, Queenstown, has been arrested and charged with several traffic-related offences stemming from incidents that occurred on December 24, 2025, at the Anna Regina Access Road.

The charges against Vanderhyden include:
Uninsured Motor Vehicle, contrary to Section 3(1)
Driving without a Licence, contrary to Section 23(1)
Failure to Have an Identification Mark on a Motor Vehicle (Rear), contrary to Section 13
All offences are in accordance with the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02.
On January 14, 2026, Vanderhyden appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir. During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to all charges.
He was fined a total of $145,000 with a default sentence of three months’ imprisonment for each offence if the fines are not paid.
This enforcement action underscores the ongoing efforts by local authorities to enhance road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
