Dear Minister Colin Croal, I write to express my deep concern following disturbing reports regarding what should have been a moment of celebration for citizens who have each paid $500,000 for 80’ x 40’ lots in the Viva La Force, Vriesland, and Plantation Lorenzo areas within the Wales Housing Development, Region Three.
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, these individuals were invited to the Region 3 Housing Office and subsequently transported to the location, expecting to mark and identify their plots. Instead, they were greeted with pinwheels, refreshments, and vague promises. They were informed that their lands would only become available in November 2025 and were, quite shockingly, urged to vote for the PPP/C in the upcoming elections.
Naturally, many of these citizens felt deceived and expressed their frustration by leaving the event in anger and disappointment.
Minister, I stand firmly by my long-held position and previous warnings: your administration has consistently misled the people of Guyana with claims of delivering 50,000 house lots, while thousands of applicants continue to wait after years of delay.
To my fellow Guyanese, I urge you not to be misled. Let us hold those in power accountable. On September 1, 2025, let your voice be heard and your vote reflect your demand for truth and genuine progress.
Yours sincerely,
Annette Ferguson, MP
