Linden Businessman Charged with Illegal Firearm Possession

News Source Guyana Reports | Dukquan Rose, a 30-year-old businessman from Linden, has been charged and remanded to prison for allegedly possessing firearms and ammunition without a license.

Rose was arrested last Wednesday during a police operation at his residence on Redwood Crescent. He faced the charges in court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty. He has been remanded until December 16, when the matter is set to continue.

According to a statement from the police, a search of Rose’s home revealed two handguns and a significant cache of ammunition. Additionally, officers discovered over $6.9 million in local currency and more than $7,000 in cash.

The search was reportedly initiated following information received by law enforcement regarding Rose’s suspected involvement in the movement and sale of unlicensed firearms. Investigations continue as authorities probe further into the case.
