Vishan Bharrat, a 29-year-old laborer from Reliance, was remanded to prison following his arrest for the alleged theft of 16 packs of chicken valued at $80,000.
Bharrat was arrested on August 19, 2025, and formally charged on August 21, 2025, with the offense of Simple Larceny. He appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 21, before His Worship Mr. Mohabir, where the charge was read to him.
In court, Bharrat pleaded not guilty to the charges. Following his plea, he was remanded to prison, with the case adjourned until September 16, 2025, for the submission of statements.
