Man Sentenced to Six Months for Damaging Car Windows

A 45-year-old man, Quinton Haywood, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to damaging four car windows. The ruling was made by Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The incident occurred on June 15, 2025, at Pineapple Street, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, where Haywood damaged windows on the vehicle of Rickford Gillis, valued at $300,000.

According to the prosecution, on the day of the incident, Gillis’s motorcar (HD 4782) was parked outside his residence when Haywood returned home from a football match. After placing his food box on the car and going to the shop, he returned to find his food missing, which angered him. In a fit of rage, Haywood armed himself with several large bricks and broke the car windows.

Gillis was alerted to the damage and reviewed his CCTV footage, which confirmed Haywood’s actions. A report was filed, leading to Haywood’s arrest. During questioning, he admitted to the crime.

Before sentencing, Magistrate Singh asked Haywood why she should not impose the maximum penalty. He apologized for his actions, but ultimately, the court sentenced him to six months in prison.
