Winston Munroe, a 26-year-old mason from South Better Hope, was arrested on December 31, 2025, in connection with an armed robbery incident. The police took him into custody following allegations that he robbed a 32-year-old male construction worker in Vryheid’s Lust.

Munroe faced charges in the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court on January 2, 2026, under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01. During the court appearance, presided over by His Worship Clive Nurse, Munroe pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court granted him bail in the amount of $200,000 Guyana Currency. As part of the bail conditions, Munroe is mandated to report to the police every second Friday and to refrain from any contact with the virtual complainant.
The case has been adjourned and is scheduled to resume on March 9, 2026.
