On September 19, 2025, police from Regional Division 4C, in collaboration with Special Branch officers, conducted a successful intelligence-led operation at Haslington North, resulting in the seizure of 41,753.178 kilograms of suspected marijuana.

Between 7:00 and 7:30 AM, officers approached a wooden boat, named Paraboo GA 0480/5, where a male and female of mixed ancestry were present. Upon noticing the police, the suspects fled into nearby bushes, evading capture.
A search of the vessel revealed four large compressed parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, containing leaves, seeds, and stems believed to be cannabis. The parcels were taken to the Cove and John Police Station, but attempts to recover fingerprints were unsuccessful due to the material used.
The narcotics were subsequently transported to the Guyana Police Force Narcotics Branch in Georgetown, where they were weighed and found to have an estimated street value of Gy$37,577,860. Samples were extracted, and the parcels were lodged for further analysis.
The boat and its Yamaha engine were secured, with the vessel remaining under police guard at the seawalls. The suspects, identified by their aliases ‘Black Boy’ and ‘Lisa,’ are still at large as police continue their efforts to apprehend them.
