The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown have mandated the immediate removal of all vendors operating around Yhip’s Bakery, located at the corner of Alexander and Robb Streets. This decision follows a High Court order that prohibits vending activities in the vicinity.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, the municipality announced that a mandamus and court order had been granted, requiring strict enforcement against vending activities near the property. The ruling mandates full compliance by city authorities.
The notice detailed that contempt proceedings had been initiated against certain officers of the Mayor and City Council, prompting swift action to ensure adherence to the court’s decision.
Affected vendors have been instructed to comply with previous notices and remove all structures, including carts, tables, pallets, and other vending items, effective immediately. The council emphasized that failure to comply with this final notice could lead to enforcement action by the City Constabulary Department, which may include the removal of vending items and other legal measures.
The municipality urged all affected vendors to cooperate to avoid further legal repercussions, underscoring the importance of adhering to the court’s ruling.
