News

Minister of Education Sonia Parag has addressed recent videos circulating on social media that depict students from a specific school engaging in inappropriate and vulgar behavior. In her statement, she emphasized that the Ministry of Education does not condone such conduct, regardless of the occasion, including Christmas socials.

Parag noted that the Deputy Chief Education Officer Admin has communicated with Headmasters (HMs) and Head Teachers to ensure proper supervision and control during any Christmas events held in schools. She asserted that those responsible for supervising these events must be held accountable for the conduct of students.

The Minister stressed the collective responsibility of the community, stating, “It does take a village to raise a child. Therefore, it is incumbent on us at every level to ensure that we do our part in discouraging negative behavior and conduct.”

Through this statement, Parag calls for a concerted effort from parents, educators, and the community to foster a positive environment for students and to address inappropriate behaviors effectively.
