Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, addressed supporters at the launch of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) 2025 election campaign on Sunday afternoon. In her speech, she dismissed the plans proposed by the opposition as “child’s play.”

Rodrigues, who first joined the PPP/C platform ahead of the 2020 elections, emphasized that “no plan is superior to that of the PPP government.” Reflecting on her experience in the housing sector, she highlighted the transformative impacts of the past five years under what she termed the “capable and competent leadership” of the party.
The Minister pointed to significant achievements, including the distribution of over 50,000 house lots, with more than 50% allocated to young homeowners. “The PPP has the experience and the proven track record to get the job done,” she stated, criticizing the opposition’s proposals as detrimental to economic progress.
Rodrigues asserted that the opposition’s plans would perpetuate poverty, declaring, “They are playing ‘dolly house’ with your future, and we have to stop them. We don’t have time for child’s play; this party is a serious party.”
With a mission to ensure that every Guyanese has access to comfortable housing, Rodrigues affirmed that the PPP/C would continue its efforts to make homeownership a reality for all citizens if re-elected on September 1, 2025.
“Come September 1, we will be standing on business,” she concluded, rallying support for the party’s vision for the future.
