The Ministry of Health has issued an official statement addressing a recent incident at one of the country’s regional hospitals involving two individuals reportedly engaged in inappropriate conduct on the hospital premises.

In the media release dated Friday, July 25, 2025, the Ministry clarified that the individuals involved were not employees of the Ministry of Health. Instead, they were contracted workers employed by a private security firm and a general services company responsible for providing outsourced services to the hospital.

Following the incident, both individuals were promptly relieved of their duties and are no longer assigned to the facility. The Ministry noted that it has taken steps to engage with the contracting companies to review oversight mechanisms and reinforce professional standards across all service providers.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to maintaining integrity and professionalism at all public health facilities and assured the public that corrective actions are underway to prevent such incidents in the future.
