Danielle Cameron, a 14-year-old girl from Berbice, was located at about 3:00 PM today by officers from the Mackenzie Police Station acting on received information. She was found at the home of Faye Pillay, a 77-year-old pensioner in Amelia’s Ward, Linden.

Danielle had been reported missing from her home in Chesney New Scheme, Berbice. Upon questioning, she revealed that she had been in contact with an 18-year-old male laborer from South Amelia’s Ward for the past two months. Danielle stated that she had lied about her age, claiming to be 16, and agreed to stay with him starting from June 24, 2025.
On June 27, 2025, the laborer’s sister visited their grandmother and encountered Danielle, who introduced herself as “Rose.” On June 28, while at her grandmother’s residence, the sister overheard Danielle discussing a Facebook post, raising her suspicions. After questioning both Danielle and her brother, the sister managed to contact Danielle’s mother.
Upon confirming Danielle’s true identity and age, the sister promptly informed the police. Officers subsequently went to the address and found Danielle, who was then taken to the Mackenzie Police Station.
Danielle’s mother, a 51-year-old woman, confirmed her daughter’s identity and noted that a Missing Person report had been filed on April 3, 2025. She was advised to report to the station.
The 18-year-old male laborer was not found at the location; his grandmother indicated he had “gone out.” Danielle is currently in police care at the Mackenzie Police Station, awaiting her mother’s arrival.
