Missing Guyanese Woman Found Dead in French Guiana

Waterkant Reports Coretta Blair Sandy, a 34-year-old woman from Guyana, has been found dead after being reported missing. Known as Mindy, she had traveled to French Guiana with her husband, Terrence Glasgow. Family members lost contact with her on June 11, raising concerns about her whereabouts.

Glasgow returned to Guyana and informed his mother-in-law, Tricia, that they had been traveling through Suriname and had encountered a shooting incident. He claimed that Coretta had been fatally shot in the head, but his account raised suspicions among family members.

Following their concerns, the Guyanese police apprehended Terrence for questioning. Meanwhile, on Sunday, authorities in French Guiana conducted an investigation at the residence where the couple had been staying. Tragically, Coretta’s lifeless body was discovered by the Gendarmerie Nationale in a swampy area near the house around 5:45 p.m.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Coretta may have been murdered on Tuesday, with Terrence allegedly fleeing back to Guyana without revealing the full circumstances of her death. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading to her tragic demise.
