Mother and Son Injured in Bridge Collapse in Linden

Lester Glen Reports : Nail technician Karol Velasquez Dominick, 29, and her 3-year-old son, Dominic, from West Watooka, were involved in a distressing incident on their way to a client. While crossing the Mackenzie/Wismar Bridge, they were forced by a truck to use the pedestrian crossing, which then collapsed beneath them.

Both mother and child were subsequently treated at the Linden Hospital Complex and have since returned home. Velasquez will require an MRI scan, incurring additional medical costs. In the incident, she lost her phone, savings, a pair of glasses, and her bike, leaving her traumatized.

Dominic has been experiencing nightmares, waking up in distress and calling out “water, water.”
