The mother of a 15-year-old girl, Tiana Chapman, who was brutally stabbed around 25 times, is urging for increased security at the New Amsterdam Hospital. Tiana remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and her mother fears for her daughter’s safety as the 28-year-old suspect in the attack remains at large.

The incident occurred on February 22, and the accused is reportedly the father of Tiana’s 18-month-old child. Tiana’s mother, Adacia Andrews, shared that while her daughter’s condition has improved, she is still closely monitored in the ICU. “She’s stable now. She wasn’t stable before, but she’s stable now,” Andrews stated, emphasizing the precariousness of the ICU environment.
Family members previously informed that Tiana did not live with the suspect. At the time of the attack, she was at a friend’s house in the village. Adacia learned of the assault while at work and immediately rushed to the hospital.
The mother had reached out to the Childcare Protection Agency (CPA) for help after discovering her daughter’s involvement with the adult man. Unbeknownst to her, Tiana was already five months pregnant when she found out, leading to the teen dropping out of school. “They said they would contact me and that the man would be charged with rape, but they never came back and told me anything. Since 2024, they never came back,” Adacia lamented.
With the suspect still unaccounted for, Adacia is fearful for her daughter’s safety during her hospitalization. “For now, we hear that he’s around the place, so I ask for security at the hospital because we don’t know where the young man is,” she remarked, urging for security measures at the ICU until her daughter is well enough to move to a standard ward.
Local police have initiated an investigation into the stabbing incident and are actively searching for the suspect.
