
Police officers have recovered significant quantities of illegal substances at Honey Camp Landing, Issano, along with cash believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales.
According to a release from Police Headquarters, two males were intercepted during the operation: a 48-year-old man from Linden and a 29-year-old from Lethem, both engaged in small-scale mining, known locally as “pork-knockers.”
During the search of the 48-year-old, officers discovered:
98.3 grams of suspected cannabis
62.4 grams of suspected cocaine
A quantity of cash believed to be derived from drug sales
In the search of the 29-year-old, police found:
2.5 grams of suspected cannabis
1.5 grams of a rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine
All substances were secured and taken to the Issano Police Station for weighing and processing in the presence of both suspects. The cash was also counted, documented, and lodged as evidence.
Both individuals have been arrested and remain in custody as investigations continue into the narcotics operations in the area.
