Natasha Singh-Lewis Resigns from PNCR, Leaving National Assembly Seat

Natasha Singh-Lewis has officially resigned from the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), following a similar departure by her colleague Amanza Walton-Desir, who recently announced her intention to start her own party.

Singh-Lewis has also relinquished her seat in the National Assembly, where she served as the shadow minister for the social services sector after becoming a Parliamentarian in 2020.

In a letter to PNCR leader Aubrey Norton and General Secretary Sherwin Benjamin, Singh-Lewis expressed her regret but emphasized her commitment to the people who entrusted her with their votes. “It is with profound regret, but driven by deep-seated conviction and an unwavering duty to the people… that I tender my immediate resignation. This was a very difficult decision for me, but after consultation with my family, key stakeholders, my constituents, and my mentors, this is my position,” she stated.

Her resignation adds to a growing list of individuals who have left the PNCR. Last week, Walton-Desir cited feelings of being sidelined and her inability to contribute meaningfully to the party or its plans for the upcoming September 1, 2025 elections as reasons for her departure.
