The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has announced that the ten (10) appointed Returning Officers and ten (10) Supernumerary Returning Officers for the upcoming General and Regional Elections have officially taken their Oaths of Office. The ceremony took place on June 23, 2025, led by GECOM’s Chairperson, Justice (Ret’d) Claudette Singh.
This oath-taking is a crucial step in the preparations for the elections, as the Returning Officers will oversee the electoral process in their respective districts. The Supernumerary Returning Officers will manage the sub-districts within districts 3, 4, and 6, in accordance with the Representation of the People Act.
Political parties and electors are encouraged to visit the designated offices in their districts for important information regarding the electoral process and key statutory timelines.
