Operation Leads to Ecstasy Seizure in Skeldon

On Tuesday, June 4, officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), acting on received information, conducted an operation near a popular bar in Skeldon, Berbice.

A search of the surrounding area, including an alleyway near the location, led to the discovery of a bulky red plastic bag containing a quantity of pills suspected to be ecstasy.

The suspected ecstasy pills were taken to the CANU Berbice Office, where they were counted and weighed, totaling 700 pills with a combined weight of 600 grams.

One person is currently in custody assisting with the investigation.

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit remains committed to disrupting the illicit drug trade and urges members of the public to continue providing credible information to aid in the fight against narcotics trafficking.
