Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh announced Wednesday night that 23,816 additional citizens will receive their $100,000 cash grant deposited directly into their bank accounts within 24 hours, bringing the total number of recipients so far to 85,842 and the overall disbursement to $8.5 billion.

Dr. Singh made the disclosure in a Facebook post, noting that the latest batch of recipients had successfully applied through the self-registration portal and have since been verified and processed.
“More eligible citizens had been able to apply for the grant using the self-registration portal,” the Finance Minister said, adding that verification and processing continue for remaining applicants.
Of the 85,842 citizens who have received the grant to date, 48,858 were public sector workers who received their payments through their bank accounts in an earlier round of disbursements.
Dr. Singh also noted that thousands more citizens have begun the registration process on the new portal and encouraged them to complete it in its entirety to avoid delays in receiving their grant.
To be eligible for the National $100,000 Cash Grant, applicants must meet the following requirements: they must be a Guyanese citizen aged 18 years or older as at February 28, 2026; hold a valid National Identification Card, Digital Identity Card, or Guyana Passport; have a bank account in their name at any local commercial bank; and be physically present in Guyana at the time of registration.
Citizens requiring assistance can contact the national help desk at telephone numbers 501-5085 and 503-2977 during working hours.
