The People’s National Congress (PNC) has reiterated its commitment to serving the people of Guyana as a national institution dedicated to the nation’s progress. In a recent statement, Hon. Christopher Jones, Chief Whip of the PNC, emphasized the party’s historical significance and its unwavering dedication to the Guyanese people.

The PNC, which played a pivotal role in leading Guyana to independence and establishing various national government agencies, is described by Jones as more than just a political party—it is a vital part of the country’s identity and fabric. He quoted the party’s battle song, highlighting how it has led the nation “out of ages of oppression” and into a new era of independence.

Throughout its history, the PNC has faced numerous challenges and threats to its identity and existence. Jones noted that the party has always defended itself and its members while standing firm for the people of Guyana. He urged supporters to “hold the line of battle” against these challenges, emphasizing the importance of resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

Jones acknowledged that while there may be low points in the party’s trajectory, the PNC has the strength to rebound and thrive, thanks to its dedicated supporters. He expressed confidence that the party will continue to provide hope and leadership for the Guyanese people, especially as the nation approaches the upcoming elections.

In the spirit of collaboration, Jones called for unity within the APNU alliance, stating that together, they will rally the masses “from field to office and factory” as they prepare for the electoral battle ahead.

“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat,” Jones declared, reinforcing the message that the PNC remains a vital force in Guyanese politics. “The PNC is not dead! Let us begin the work towards electoral victory on September 1, 2025.”

As the PNC gears up for the future, it remains committed to fighting for the rights and needs of all Guyanese citizens, striving to build a better tomorrow for the nation.
