On December 23, 2025, the Director of the Guyana Police Force’s Academy, Senior Superintendent Sonia Herbert, and Assistant Superintendent Metchelle Padmore visited Apprentice Krish Singh, a new recruit who recently suffered the devastating loss of his home in a fire. The incident also impacted six other residents at the time.

The visit was organized through Deputy Commissioner of Administration, Mr. Ravindradat Budhram, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. During their meeting, Herbert and Padmore provided both psychological and moral support to Singh and his family as they begin to navigate the challenging process of rebuilding after the loss.
The officers expressed their empathy and commitment to supporting the newest member of the police force, reinforcing the community-oriented values of the Guyana Police Force. This support highlights the force’s dedication to not only the safety of the public but also the well-being of its recruits during difficult times.
