The News Desk Reports : Police are investigating an alleged assault involving a 52-year-old woman from the Sara Johanna Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara, after a video of the incident was circulated on social media.
According to preliminary investigations, the victim reported the matter on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at approximately 14:30 hrs, at Regional Police Headquarters 4 ‘B’. She told investigators that the incident occurred on Monday, March 23, 2025, at her residence and involved another woman from the same area.
Investigators further stated that the incident was recorded on video and was later shared online. Statements have since been taken from the victim and her daughter as part of the probe.
Police said efforts are ongoing to locate and contact the suspect while investigations continue.
