Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a mining camp along the Cuyuni River, where masked gunmen made off with an undisclosed amount of raw gold. The incident took place between 08:30 and 11:00 hours at a camp operated by a 58-year-old Brazilian national located at 68 Backdam.

According to police reports, three masked men, armed with firearms and clad in camouflage, entered the camp and held workers at gunpoint. Witnesses indicated that the suspects communicated in English, Portuguese, and Spanish during the robbery.
Following the theft, the suspects fled the scene with the stolen gold. Several individuals, including the camp operator, sustained injuries during the incident, although their current conditions have not been disclosed.
In response to the robbery, police have dispatched a team of officers to the remote location to carry out further investigations. Efforts are also underway to locate and apprehend the suspects involved in the armed robbery. Investigators are urging anyone with information related to the crime to come forward as the investigation continues.
