The Guyana Police Force’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is currently investigating an incident that took place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the West Central Mall, involving three police officers and two male civilians. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM.

According to a police statement, the officers—a Corporal, a Lance Corporal, and a Constable from Regional Division number 3—were responding to reports of a disturbance caused by several young males at the mall.
Upon arrival, the officers identified two individuals, aged 19 and 20, both residents of Den Amstel, who were reportedly exhibiting disorderly behavior. The police instructed the pair to leave the premises; however, the individuals refused to comply. This refusal led the officers to attempt to escort them from the mall’s compound.
The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
