On Saturday, June 21, 2025, traffic ranks and members of the Heavy Duty Course 1/2025 participated in a training session focused on the operation, use, and maintenance of 500 newly acquired body cameras. The training was conducted by Sergeant Matthews from the Police Information Technology Department at the Officers’ Training Centre in Eve Leary.

During the session, participants received comprehensive instruction on operating the cameras, which include features for capturing digital, audio, and video evidence. These body cameras have become essential tools for the Guyana Police Force, aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, supporting investigations, and promoting transparency in policing.
The newly acquired cameras are set to be decentralized across various regions for use in operations, investigations, and regular patrols.
Attendees included Traffic Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mahendra Singh; Superintendent Raun Clarke; Assistant Superintendents Sherwin Henry and Garvin Boyce; as well as Inspectors Ulene Morris and Richard Trotz.
