A 24-year-old security guard has been identified as the suspect in the robbery of the Fantasy Gaming Lounge at the Giftland Mall, during which $13.1 million was stolen early Sunday morning.

According to Police Headquarters, the suspect, employed by Castle Security, was tasked with protecting the premises at the time of the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate that around 5:30 AM, the 21-year-old supervisor, Raywat Sankar, exited the cashier area to assist a female floor supervisor with cleaning duties, as there were no customers present.
The suspect, armed with a 9mm pistol, confronted both supervisors, fired a shot into the air, and demanded that Sankar open the electronic door to the cashier area. Upon compliance, both supervisors were ordered into the cashier’s room, where Sankar was instructed to open the vault and place all cash into a garbage basket. The suspect then left the building with the stolen cash.
CCTV footage from the Giftland Mall captured the suspect exiting onto the access road and heading west on the Railway Embankment, where he was seen stopping a motorcar (PZZ 5690) that drove away in the western direction.
Detectives at the scene recovered a spent 9mm shell casing. Efforts to locate the suspect at his residence were unsuccessful, as he was not found and no cash was recovered. Investigations are ongoing to track down the vehicle involved.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident to come forward.
